Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has been appointed Member of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) during the recently held 90th General Session. With this appointment St Vincent and the Grenadines becomes the 183 Member of the Organisation.
Dr Luis Barcos, Regional Representative for the Americas said: “We are proud to welcome Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as a new Member of WOAH. We look forward to working closely with the country to continue to promote better animal health and welfare practices in the region”.
About the Members
The World Assembly of 183 Delegates is the highest authority of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH). It comprises the Delegates of all Members and meets at least once a year. The General Session of the Assembly lasts five days and is held every year in May in Paris. Voting by Delegates within the Assembly respects the democratic principle of ‘one country, one vote’.
