On May 21, a virtual meeting was held, organized by the secretary of the GF-TADs of the Americas, at the request of the Delegate of Brazil, Dr Marcelo de Andrade Mota, on the occasion of the notification of the appearance of Avian Influenza in that country.
The meeting focused on discussing the recent outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Brazil, with officials providing updates on the situation and detailing the containment measures implemented. Participants explored various aspects of surveillance, management, and regional collaboration to address the outbreak, emphasizing the importance of transparency and communication.
The meeting was attended by delegates and focal points from the Americas region, representatives from the FAO, and the Brazilian Veterinary Service team.
