On Monday 9 August, Cecilia M. Westerdahl joined the team of the OIE Regional Representation for the Americas as Regional Communications Officer.
In her role, she will be responsible for developing and implementing regional communication strategies to promote OIE activities.
Cecilia holds a degree in Public and Institutional Relations and completed a postgraduate course in Advanced Marketing. Before joining the OIE she worked as a Press and Communications Consultant for the Subsecretaría de Acceso a la Justicia at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and was Head of the Communications Department at the Argentine Supreme Court of Justice.
In addition, she led the set-up of the Communications Department at Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal and worked for the International Examinations Department of the University of Cambridge.
For several years she has taught Introduction to Global Strategic Communication and Digital Communication Management at the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa.
Dr. Luis Barcos, Regional Representative of the OIE for the Americas, mentioned regarding Cecilia’s arrival: “We are really happy that Cecilia is joining our team, as communication plays a fundamental role within the OIE. We wish her every success in this new phase and welcome her to the RRA team”
