Webinar: Observatory's First Annual Report

The mandate of our organisation includes developing international standards for animal health and welfare based on the latest scientific information. When our Members vote to adopt them at the WOAH annual General Session, they commit to translating them into their national legislation.

WOAH knows that the implementation of its standards at country level may vary depending on challenges, such as the lack of financial resources, human resources or relevant infrastructure. To provide a global overview of the level of implementation of WOAH’s standards, the Observatory programme uses a data-driven approach. It also aims to gather information about the challenges that Members face when implementing standards at country level. These activities will help WOAH to improve our support for Members.

The Observatory has recently published its first Annual Report, a major milestone for the programme. This report can provide your Veterinary Services with valuable insights.

In March 2023, WOAH will organise four webinars to present this first annual report of the Observatory. The meetings will aim to:

  • describe the Observatory programme, its purpose, and one of its outputs: the first Annual Report
  • explain how to find/use relevant information and data in the Annual Report
  • reflect on the recommendations and suggestions this document provides

The four webinars will have the same content: they will be organised on four different days and times so WOAH Members can choose the one that is most suitable based on time zone and language.
