With more than 300 participants, including representatives from veterinary services and industry, gathered in Guadalajara, Mexico, from 13 to 16 October to participate in the XXX CAMEVET Seminar. The Delegates to WOAH from Belize and Chile also participated, and we were joined by the WOAH Regional Representation for the Americas and the Antimicrobial Resistance & Veterinary Products Department from WOAH Headquarters. The meeting served as a key forum for technical exchange and regulatory harmonisation.
During the meeting, progress was presented on the implementation of technical documents, guidelines at various stages of processing were reviewed, and new guidelines were approved, including efficacy testing for internal antiparasitics in ruminants and pigs and the basic guide to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Key issues for the region were addressed, such as regulatory updates, antimicrobial resistance, registration of cannabis products, and computational models for evaluating efficacy. Regulatory aspects related to the use of natural penicillins, bioacaricides, and innovative biological products were also discussed.
