World Antimicrobial Awareness Week

Header

The World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is a global campaign carried out every year which aims to increase awareness and understanding of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and to encourage best practices to avoid the further emergence and spread of AMR worldwide.

Within the framework of the tripartite project “Working Together to Fight Antimicrobial Resistance”, the OIE together with FAO and WHO developed an online campaign in the occasion of WAAW. All the materials are available in Spanish, Portuguese, and English in the following link:

Furthermore, the OIE through the project supported the Veterinary Services of the 7 participating countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay) in the development and communication of the WAAW’s key messages.

Below you will find some of the materials developed by the countries of the Region of the Americas, as an inspiration and encouragement to everyone, and with the intention of appreciating and spreading the exceptional work carried out by the Veterinary Services.
