On Wednesday 1 September, the members of the Subregional Tripartite Project, gathered virtually to discuss the latest updates of the project.

During the meeting, each country presented an update on the technical activities carried out by the Veterinary Services, within the national action plan of the project.

Also, they talked about the communication actions that each country is planning for the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) that is celebrated from 18-24 November every year. The theme for this year is “Spread awareness, stop resistance”. Within the project, countries count with financial support for their communication campaigns.

In reference to this week, the representatives of each country, presented a brief summary of the communication actions led within last year’s project. Also, the OIE, shared the “We need you” campaign launched under the “One Health” concept. In the upcoming weeks, the OIE will coordinate bilateral meetings with each country to offer support in the planning of the campaigns for this year.

Dr. María Mesplet, OIE Project Officer, mentioned about this meeting: “It is truly important for us to generate these encounters, where countries can share their experiences and updates on the project. The coordinated work between the institutions and the representatives of each country is the best strategy we count on to guarantee the success of this project”.
