Update meeting on the project "Working together to fight AMR"

On Wednesday 17 May, an update meeting on the project “Working together to fight antimicrobial resistance” was held with the project focal points and WOAH veterinary products focal points.

During this meeting, Dr. Maria Mesplet, project officer, presented a summary of the activities carried out during the first three years of the project. She also shared the main activities planned for the last year of the project:

  • Launch of a mobile application to verify whether veterinary products are duly registered with the official veterinary service of each country.
  • Training to support the implementation of the new Data Collection System (ANIMUSE) 12-14 September -Montevideo, Uruguay
  • Development of an e-learning on AMR and prudent use of antimicrobials
  • Pre-congress session on alternatives to antimicrobials use during the Congress of the Latin American Association of Microbiology (ALAM) in Quito, Ecuador.
  • Workshop to strengthen wildlife surveillance

During the closing, the participants discussed the implementation of these activities and the next steps to be taken in the framework of the project.
